Choose your timber and your finish
Timber from different species has its own colour, grain, hardness and markings. The way we install and finish it brings those characteristics out and protects the wood for years.
Rich reds, tans and golden blondes
Choose your colour from a range of natural rich reds, tans and golden blondes. We carry solid timber, engineered timber and hybrid samples so you can compare species, grades and widths side by side, against your own décor.
Oak
The most popular timber for staining and colour washing. American White Oak and European oaks from the Baltic States and France are favoured for their defined grain and distinctive swirl patterns, which create striking effects when stained.
Oak holds stain well thanks to its open, fine grain, which is why it is our most-requested timber for everything from near-black floors to the lighter Hamptons look.
More species on request
Oak is our confirmed lead timber. We will list the further species our team commonly installs here once they are confirmed, so we can advise on the grain, hardness and colour of each against your home. Ask Mark on 0448 475 115 or visit the showroom to compare samples in person.
The right gloss level for your home
To get the finish and gloss level you want, raw floorboards are sanded and polished on site. Compare our finish samples at the showroom.
Rich lacquer
Solvent-based polyurethane.
Water-based
Non-yellowing, odourless.
Low sheen to semi-gloss
Or matte, your choice of sheen.
Invisible finish
A raw look that is still protected.
You can also compare skirting and beading trims to find the right edge for your new floor.
Hand-applied, approved by you on the day
Some homes call for a stained or coloured floor. We change the colour of the raw timber by hand, applying pigments and waxes in the shade and depth you want. Because stain cannot usually be touched up or painted over, we ask you to be on site on the day of staining to approve the colour before we lock it in. Once dry, the floor is sealed with a clear polyurethane top coat to protect the timber and set the sheen.
Near jet-black
The darkest of our range.
Antique brown & gold
Warm, traditional tones.
Antique walnut
A favourite on herringbone parquetry.
Limewashed grey & white
For the Hamptons look.
Pre-stained and roasted oak
Many of our engineered floors come in pre-stained and roasted oak finishes, so you see the exact final colour as it is installed, with no guesswork.
Strip floors and parquetry
We install strip floors and parquetry, including herringbone and large-block patterns. Pattern work, finished in a warm antique walnut or a clear coat, gives a floor an ageless look and makes it the feature of the room.
